    Celebrate Urban Birds!
1-4pm, Elisabet Ney Museum, 304 E 44th St., . Celebrate Urban Birds with the Ney again this year! Between Waller Creek and our Native Landscape Recreation, we're a perfect fit! There will be fun family birding activities as well as bird counts at 1:00 and 3:00. At 2:00, listen to “The Birdchasers,” a lecture from Kevin Anderson with the Austin Water Center for Environmental Research at Hornsby Bend. Kevin's talk will focus on the history of bird watching in Austin, from Roy Bedichek to Robin Doughty and the places and changes they have seen. Bedichek and J. Frank Dobie kept track of bird species on Waller Creek for instance, and, of course, at Barton Springs. This should be a fascinating program!. Read More ...
